A new report Product Barcode Problems Report has been created to allow users to view, and potentially fix, problems with barcodes on products.
This report searches for products where the same barcode appears on different products, and also where barcodes appear both in the Selling Units of Measure for a product and in the Barcode/APN field or the Additional Product Codes field.
If Fix Problems Where Possible is set to Yes, barcodes will be removed from fields where it is logical to do so.
The purpose of this report is to reduce selling, picking and receipting errors by ensuring a barcode is only set on the product, and in the unit of measure, that it should be.
NOTE: Where a barcode appears in the selling units of measure, and also either in the Product/APN field or Additional Product Codes field, the selling unit of measure barcode will always take precedence. For example:
•Product 200100 is sold as an EACH
•Barcode 0123456789 is set on the product in the selling units of measure for a box of 12
•Barcode 0123456789 is also set on the product in the additional product codes field
•When Barcode 0123456789 is scanned, it will be treated as a box of 12
