We are pleased to announce a significant enhancement to the shelf/product label printing system. With this update, users can now set a system wide default shelf/product label size, along with default shelf/product label sizes for product groups and individual products. Additionally, users retain the flexibility to override the default sizes during label printing, ensuring a tailored solution for unique labeling needs.

Key Features:

1.System-Wide Default Label Size:

A new option has been added to set a default shelf/product label size across the entire system. This ensures consistency across all products, shelves and labels without the need to configure label sizes individually. If this setting is not configured, the system default shelf/product label size will be set as Shelf Label (89mm x 25mm) as this is the most common size used by BBS users.
Please refer to System Parameters > Purchasing & Inventory > Inventory Control for more information.

2.Default Label Size for Product Groups:

Users can now assign default shelf/product label sizes to product groups which will override system default. This ensures that all products within a group automatically adopt the same label size unless otherwise specified.
Please refer to Product Group Maintenance for more information.

3.Default Label Size for Individual Products:

In addition to product group-level settings, users can set unique default shelf/product label sizes for individual products, allowing for more precise label management for specific items.
Please refer to Product Masterfile Maintenance > Pricing tab for more information.

4.Override Default Settings during Printing:

While system wide, product group and individual defaults can be applied, users can override these defaults during the label printing process. This provides the flexibility to accommodate special cases without altering your overall system settings.

5.Improved Consistency and Flexibility:

This update enhances label printing consistency across the system while maintaining flexibility to select different shelf/product label sizes when required for special circumstances.

Benefits:

Efficiency: Simplifies the labeling process with a centralised, system-wide default size.

Consistency: Ensures uniformity across products, groups and labels, reducing the risk of inconsistencies.

Flexibility: Allows users to override defaults during printing for special labeling needs.

Customisation: Provides the ability to manage label sizes at multiple levels (system wide, product group, individual product) for more tailored configurations.
