The BBS–Mailchimp integration enables automated syncing of key customer data from BBS into Mailchimp. It supports more precise and compliant email marketing by ensuring data is always up-to-date, segmented, and properly tagged. This integration automates two key tasks:
1. Unsubscribe Sync
All email addresses unsubscribed from any Mailchimp audience will be automatically added to the BBS UNSUB mailing list in your system.
•This ensures consistent suppression of contacts who have opted out of marketing communications.
•Helps maintain compliance and avoids marketing to unsubscribed users.
2. BBS Customers List Sync
A new Mailchimp audience called “BBS Customers XX” (where "XX" is your company code) will be created and continuously updated with contacts from the following sources:
•Sales Contacts on Customer Masterfile
•Accounts Contacts on Customer Masterfile
•CRM Contacts for Customers
•Web Logins for Customers
Each contact will be enriched with custom merge fields to provide detailed customer information, including:
•Name & Address
•Customer Code, Sales Rep, Market Code, Group, etc.
•Membership details
•Last Sale Date
•Number of Outstanding Sales Orders
•CRM Custom Fields
🏷️ Enhanced Contact Tagging
Contacts in the “BBS Customers XX” (where "XX" is your company code) list will be tagged to support smarter segmentation and targeted campaigns. Tags are applied based on:
•Customer Classifications from BBS
•CRM Opportunities (where the customer has an active opportunity)
•BBS Mailing Lists from the Direct Marketing module (where the email address appears on a BBS mailing list)
These tags give you greater flexibility to create dynamic segments, enabling highly targeted marketing efforts based on real-time data from your BBS system.
📝 Important Notes:
•If you previously created segments under a contact list in mailchimp, you’ll need to recreate them in the new “BBS Customers XX” (where "XX" is your company code) list to align with updated merge fields and tag structures.
•Contacts marked as unsubscribed in Mailchimp will still appear in the “BBS Customers” audience, but their status will be preserved to prevent unintended email sends.
This integration provides a more intelligent, data-driven way to manage your audiences and target marketing campaigns based on real-time sales and CRM activity. The Mailchimp Data Upload program will run automatically each weeknight in an auto-job.
