The Sales Report Generator - Top Sales Report allows users to generate a report on invoice based sales data grouping and summarising by all invoice, customer and product properties, displaying either quantity, sales $, cost $, profit $ or G/P % for the date range selected for the selected number of top ranking items. Clicking the drop down arrow allows users to select from a list of entities and transactions to report by. |
Number of Top |
The number of top 'Report By's required. |
Ranked By |
Users can select to rank by Number of Sales, Quantity, Sales $, Profit $, Cost $, GP%. |
Grouped By |
Clicking the drop down arrow allows users to select from a list of entities and transactions to group by. |
Calculate Number of Top |
Overall - When selected, imposes restrictions on the total number of items displayed, regardless of the groups present. This ensures that only the number entered in the Number of Top field is listed in total on the report, irrespective of how they are distributed across different groups. Example: Report By = Customer, Number of Top = 50, Group By = Account Manager, Calculate Number of Top = Overall
By Group (if selected) - When selected, each distinct group will have its own collection of top items. This can potentially lead to a larger number of items being displayed in total on the report, as each group contributes its own set of top items. Example: Report By = Customer, Number of Top = 50, Group By = Account Manager, Calculate Number of Top = By Group Will result in a report showing the top 50 customers for each account manager, under headings by account manager |
