Users can setup Parent/Child relationships via the Product Variants tab of Product Masterfile Maintenance.

 

PARENT:

To set up a parent product, the product type in the General Information tab of Product Masterfile Maintenance needs to be Variant Parent. See example of a parent product below to link a 6 pack of glasses with multiple sizes together:

 

 

When a variant parent product is created, users must select one or more attributes (ie custom fields) that specify the attributes that vary between the child products (eg size/shape/colour).

 

To create custom fields for the Product Masterfile to use as Parent/Child Group Attributes, please refer to Custom Masterfile Field & List Maintenance for more information.

 

CHILDREN:

users can then add child products to the variant parent and fill in the attribute values on the Custom Fields/Attributes tab on each child product.
