Linkly (www.linkly.com.au) is the most widely used EFTPOS machine integration provider in Australia. Formally known as 'PC-EFTPOS', Linkly allows for most major bank's EFTPOS terminals to integrate directly with Point of Sale applications. BBS has developed integration with Linkly which enables our users to link their existing EFTPOS terminal with BBS to provide a more integrated solution.
Integrated EFTPOS works as follows:
1. All EFTPOS transactions are initiated from BBS (either via the Point of Sale, POS - Customer Payment/Refund, or via the Sales Order Entry/Maintenance screen by ticking the ‘Pre-Paid Order’ option.)
2. The payment or refund amount is transmitted to the EFTPOS terminal from BBS
3. The card is presented to the EFTPOS machine (or card details are entered for a MOTO).
4. Once approved, the transaction result is returned to BBS and the payment transaction details and receipts will be saved in BBS as an Integrated Payment Transaction (see POS Integrated Payment Enquiry).
5. EFTPOS receipts can be set to append automatically to BBS invoices or receipts, or to print on your existing EFTPOS terminal.
The benefits of utilising Linkly integrated EFTPOS with BBS are:
1. Staff no longer need to enter amounts payable into the EFTPOS terminal, eliminating charging errors to your customers.
2. Transactions in BBS will only save if the payment is approved, eliminating the possibility of releasing goods on a declined payment.
3. BBS invoices and receipts can be set to automatically include EFTPOS receipts at the bottom, saving customers from having to handle two dockets or staple them together.
4. No reconciliation discrepancies at end of day.
5. | The Integrated surcharging feature allows your EFTPOS terminal to automatically add credit card surcharges to some card types (eg AMEX) when the card is presented, and these surcharges are then automatically added to the customers’ BBS invoice or receipt (depending on your bank's capability). |
6. MOTO transactions can still be processed for over the phone payments, the payment just has to be initiated from BBS and then the card number can be entered into the EFTPOS terminal.
Users will be able to check if their EFTPOS provider supports Linkly In-Store integration on the Linkly website https://www.linkly.com.au/resources-support/bank-terminal-support. Users will need to contact their financial institution using the contact details found via https://www.linkly.com.au/resources-support/bank-terminal-support in order to activate Linkly In-Store on their merchant account.
When processing a payment in BBS for a payment type set to use Linkly integration, and the payment transaction is saved, the transaction will be processed on the Linkly terminal as per the process outlined above.
As with all integrated payments, once the payment has been processed and approved, the transaction cannot be cancelled or the payment record altered.
