The Custom Masterfile Field and List Maintenance program allows users to create and maintain custom fields and custom lists within the five main masterfiles Customers, Vendors, Products, Equipment and Employees. Only users with access to these modules will be able to create and maintain custom fields and lists.
NOTE: The Custom Masterfile Field and List Maintenance is completely separate to the CRM Custom Fields and CRM Custom Field Lists.
Custom Masterfile Field & List Maintenance contains two tabs Custom Masterfile Fields and Custom Field Lists.
Custom Masterfile Fields

Masterfile - The selected masterfile the custom field will be linked to
|

Field Name - The name of the custom field (up to 8 characters, alpha-numeric only - spaces and symbols will be removed automatically)

Description - The description of the custom field
|
|
Field Type - The selected field type
•Free-Type Alpha/Numeric - Users can free-type in the selected custom field
•Number - Users can enter numerals only in the selected custom field
•Dollar Value - Users can enter a dollar value only in the selected custom field, and the value will be rounded to two decimal places
•Date - Users can enter a date only in the selected custom field
•List of Items (Suggested List) - Users can select items from a suggested list in the selected custom field or free-type
•List of Items (Limited to List Items) - Users can select one item only from a list of items in the selected custom field
•List of Items (Multiple Selections) - Users can select multiple items from a list of items in the selected custom field |

Linked to List - The selected list to link the custom field to (if one of the three 'List of Items' options is selected as the Field Type

Group Name/Category - Users can enter a group name or category for which the selected custom field will be grouped within the selected masterfile
|

Add - Adds the selected custom field
Clear - Deletes the selected custom field
|
|
Displays a list of the custom fields that have been created for the selected masterfile

Custom Field Lists

New List - Creates a new Custom Masterfile Field List. Please refer to Creating Custom Field Lists for more information.
Delete List - Deletes the selected Custom Masterfile Field List

List - The selected custom masterfile field list being maintained
|
|
Seq - Displays the sequence number of the selected list item
|
|
List Item - The description of the list item
|
|
Add - Adds the selected list item
Clear - Deletes the selected list item
|
|
Displays the list items that have been created for the selected custom field list

Creating Custom Field Lists
Users can create a new Custom Field List by clicking the New List button.

List Code - Enter a unique list code (2 characters)

List Name - Enter a name for the list
|
|
Status Bar Text for Value entry only - Text that will display at the base of the screen instructing users what information should be entered into the list item
